Kids' Profiles - Connor Dickson
Eleven-year-old Connor Dickson resides in the Hunter region of NSW and
will be the recipient of funding from the 2009 Kilometres for Kids
event. Connor has Cerebral Palsy, visual problems and learning difficulties. He is able to walk limited distances, but is very unsteady on his feet and fatigues very quickly. He currently uses a very old and heavy wheelchair for family outings and school excursions. This chair is limiting Connor's outdoor participation and his involvement in family and social activities. Through the Kilometres for Kids
ride, the John Maclean Foundation will be providing Connor with a new manual wheelchair valued at approximately $5,100 which is custom built and will provide him with an increased level of independence and access to the great outdoors. Connor and his
family will attend the K4K dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley on
Saturday October 17 to meet the riders and receive his new chair.
